I had a great time this weekend at my chapter’s conference. Friday night, we all gathered for dinner at the Olive Garden with agent, Elaine Spencer of The Knight Agency and best-selling author, Haywood Smith. Both ladies were veritable founts of information and loads of fun.
Saturday, I took pages of notes during Elaine’s informative talk and learned what to do and what not to do when trying to impress an agent. Then, after lunch, Haywood entertained us all with how she creates memorable characters.
Newly inspired, I came home and whipped off a query letter to Elaine and decided to work on my web page. Elaine suggested confidence, research, and being professional as the keys to success. I listened very carefully. Here’s hoping….
