Finally some fun! My husband had the day off of work and we decided to head out to the gun range. First we stopped for a nice lunch of fajitas, then went to Shoot Straight where we shot several hundred rounds of 45ACP and 9mm ammo. I love my Sig 9mm, but Jerry’s 45’s pack a wallop and are deadly accurate. See below for a couple of our targets:

Wow, long time, no blog. But, I’m back. I did send in my registration for the Moonlight and Magnolia’s conference in Georgia. I also entered their contest. Now crossing fingers and toes.

It’s been a long day already and it’s not over. I got out of bed at the ungodly hour of 4 am to haul my friend, Kim, to the airport. She’s going for a visit to family and friends up in Michigan. Then I got home just in time to take my daughter to cheer practice.

I tried to catch a few winks before I had to go pick her up, but my cats had other ideas…

And this afternoon, I’m heading down to re-up my CPR certification for work. Hope I can stay awake. See? Nothing exciting is going on. That’s why I have to write!

I just realized it’s been a week since I posted on this blog. Guess I’ve been a bit busy. I think the high point of my week was watching the stuff I had DVR’d. Like HEROES! Who knew Peter Petrelli would look so hot with a scar across his face? Can’t wait for the finale.

I didn’t make it to see Spidey 3 this weekend. Instead, I went to a circuit training certification. We had fun, but 3 hours of stations…whew! That’s a lot of working out. But, hubby took me out to a nice dinner afterward and upgraded my cell phone. Yes, I have a new one.

I’m reading Jodi Picoult’s new book, NINETEEN MINUTES. It’s good, but very sad. Jodi was recommended to me by an agent I recently met, so I thought I’d check her out.

Also, I think I’m going to sign up for the GRW conference in September. M&M is always a great con and this is their 25 year anniversary. Sure to be a goody!

Too much exercise. My body is aching. Time to settle down for a little pampering. Diet Pepsi and Chocolate. Cancels out the calories you know…

I did read a couple of good books: Catherine Kean’s medieval romance, A KNIGHT’S VENGEANCE, and, Linda Howard’s Nocturne, RAINTREE: INFERNO.

My only complaint on the Linda Howard book is that it left me hanging until Book 2. WAAAAAA! A contest judge once told me I write like Linda Howard. I sure hope so, because her writing is awesome!

And I couldn’t put down Catherine’s medieval. I’m going out to look for her new one, MY LADY’S TREASURE.

Happy Reading!

Wow, it was like Christmas today. I went into work and we had eight new spinning bikes. And they Rock! I love them. Such a smooth ride and great water holders in the handle bars. Lots of fun! I’m adding another spin class. Starting next week, I will be teaching Monday and Wednesday, 9am.

Nice dinner with the husband. Mexican…chimichanga. Feeling tired, so off to bed soon.

Okay, I think this blogging may be addictive. I couldn’t wait to come post today. So, I thought I’d give my recommendations for quality TV viewing. LOL!

If you don’t have Showtime, get it. The Tudors and Dexter are worth the price. Love Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as the young Henry and Dexter is the most lovable serial killer you’ll ever meet.

Next, the CW’s Supernatural is awesome. I’d tune in just to look at Jared and Jensen and the ’67 Impala, but it’s a great show beyond all that.

Other faves: House, Law and Order SVU, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, Blood Ties, The Dresden Files, Bones, Medium, Battlestar Galactica, Drive, Heroes, 24, Prison Break, Smallville, and of course, I could go on. Thank God for my DVR or I’d never be able to keep up.

All for today. Later…

I had a great time this weekend at my chapter’s conference. Friday night, we all gathered for dinner at the Olive Garden with agent, Elaine Spencer of The Knight Agency and best-selling author, Haywood Smith. Both ladies were veritable founts of information and loads of fun.

Saturday, I took pages of notes during Elaine’s informative talk and learned what to do and what not to do when trying to impress an agent. Then, after lunch, Haywood entertained us all with how she creates memorable characters.

Newly inspired, I came home and whipped off a query letter to Elaine and decided to work on my web page. Elaine suggested confidence, research, and being professional as the keys to success. I listened very carefully. Here’s hoping….

So, I’ve decided to start a blog. Where to begin? Well, a little about myself. I like to write edge-of-your seat, fast-paced, action-packed romance novels with angst-ridden, hard on the outside, soft on the inside heroes. I especially enjoy paranormal and romantic suspense. I’m currently working on a RS novel, but lately it’s taken a back seat to some health issues.

I found out I had a rather large uterine fibroid tumor and decided to have uterine fibroid embolization to shrink it down, rather than a hysterectomy. I had the procedure about a month ago and so far, so good. But, for some darn reason, I haven’t started writing again. Actually, this blog may help get me back in the groove.

That, and learning to say no once in a while. I’m a chronic “run to the rescue and help people out” person. I love to be a superhero, but it does tend to cut into the writing time. I also have a husband and children, so that secret identity can be hard to hide. =)

Of course, my babies are not so small anymore. My oldest daughter will be 21 this year and is studying interior design. My son is 19 and in college studying video game design and my youngest daughter is about to get her license to drive in July when she turns 16. Still, they need me and so does hubby. He works too hard, but we still manage to find time for fun together.

Fun…that’s something I want. What do I enjoy besides writing? I love movies, books, TV shows, working out (especially kickboxing and spinning), going to the gun range…oh, and fast cars. Yeah, my husband just bought a new Pontiac GTO with 400 horsepower. Gotta love it!

I also love that Springfield 45…yeah, lots of fun stuff.

Oh, yeah. Back to the writing thing. I got distracted. Hot man, fast cars, guns…oh, sounds like one of my books. LOL!

Hey, tune in again. Maybe I’ll have some good news. Maybe I’ll write.
